THE COUNTRY CRITTER JOURNAL

The Editor/Owner, Jo Ann, started the paper after her retirement from Ameritech. She and her husband owned a farm and had many animals such as horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, turkeys, and dogs. With her love for all these animals, she wanted to reach out to the community and help in anyway that she could so she prayed and ask God what she could do. Well, He certainly answered in the development of this newspaper. In starting the newspaper, Jo Ann found many animal businesses that she never knew existed right in her own community until she went searching for them.

And so the journey began in March 2000 with the first printing with 500 copies. There were many struggles and setbacks but Jo Ann kept going, knowing that God was behind her.

Today, looking back, she can’t count all the wonderful people that she met on her newspaper journey and some that have become very good friends.

The paper today is printed every 2 months with 10,000+ copies going to over 200= locations in 3+ counties.

This has been a long journey but Jo Ann has loved every minute of it and continues to keep doing the paper until God tells her it’s time to turn off the computer.

We hope you continue to enjoy this publication and participate in anyway you can to make it even better in 2025.

Smiles & Blessings!!!
